Hurricane Harvey is on it’s way and it’s a little difficult to tell what is really going to be happening in my neck of the woods, but preparation has definitely taken up quite a bit of sewing time lately! We are supposed to get somewhere between 10-30 inches of rain over the next few days, which will be the main impact of the storm for us. The kids get released early from school today, and there are lots of things that need to be put away outside, so this is a quick post!
Fortunately, not much needs to be said about this beauty from Denyse Schmidt. It’s about as basic as quilting gets in construction, but the color play is stunning. And even though the techniques are pretty basic, a quilt with this many pieces is a classic exercise in quilting tenacity. You could finish this quilt in a weekend if you had the quilting Right Stuff.
As the pattern is written, the quilt finishes at about 60×72, which is a perfect size to snuggle under.
Stay safe, my Texas friends
