Yet another week has flown by. It’s been an interesting discipline to write a blog post every Friday. I thought it would be easy because I’d have all week to think about it, but the way things have worked out it seems like every Friday just sneaks up on me. I hope that I’m not the only one that this happens to!
This week’s Free Pattern Friday is from a new company, for me. It’s a pattern called Cut Loose using fabric called Washington Depot by Denyse Schmidt for Free Spirit. It looks like a very complicated pattern, but it says that it’s for an experienced beginner. What do you think?
I think the most important part is the accurate cutting – there are a lot of small pieces – but they are all squares or rectangles. This quilt is a basketweave, but set on point. You will also need to stay fairly organized to keep the colors marching along in the correct order, but the result will be worth it. What a pretty, crisp quilt – and at 68 x 85, it’s a great size for a gift. Or to keep!
Have a great weekend!
