What a crazy week! Lots of catching up to do and I still have lots of camping gear to put away.
What do you do when you’re too busy to even quilt one little thing? My usual response is to commit or plan to make even more quilts. So yesterday, I took on making a sample of Zen Chic’s Plus It’s Simple quilt (find the pattern at my friend Amy’s shop Plus It’s Simple Pattern). Hopefully I’ll be able to get it done this month!
There are so many neat free patterns available that it’s sometimes difficult to pick just one! But I managed. Meet Summer Star from Robert Kaufman.
Isn’t it amazing? It calls for the use of Kona solids, and for once, I agree! I think that texture or pattern would really distract from the beautiful harmony of the colors. I also love the top and bottom wavy piano key addition. Not only does it give size to the finished quilt (66×86), the movement highlights the movement within the star.
